CRITERIA FOR WRITING PERFORMANCE

OBJECTIVES

SUITABILITY: Is it relevant and does it support the overall purpose and Mission of the Agency?

FEASIBILITY: Are the objectives realistic/obtainable? Are the results within the employee’s span of control?

MEASURABILITY: Are the goals and objectives quantifiable in terms of the intended result and the associated timelines for completion?

ADAPTABILITY AND FLEXIBILITY: It should be possible to modify the objective in response to unforeseen developments so that performance can be optimized in the changing environment

COMMITMENT: Will goals and objectives be mutually developed? When an employee has input, commitment is strengthened 

WILL GOALS/OBJECTIVES BE WEIGHTED?: Weighting objectives will add focus to the relative importance of each goal
